What’s with that trailer anyway?
Interestingly enough, one of the most highly sought after photos from my site is this image:

People, this is the West Coast Choppers trailer, manufactured by H&H Trailers out of Clarinda, IA for Jesse James. The photo above is located in my gallery along with some other trailer photos, and Sat-Com research photos. [Edit, URL updated because H&H was purchased By Royal Cargo Trailers.]
If you are looking for a quality trailer manufacturer, with freakin’ awesome employees, and fantastic vision — the guys at H&H are the folks you’ve been looking for (Tell Aaron Roberts that Jerry Gilreath sent you! Maybe they’ll give me one of those little tow-behinds for free!
Woot!)
Here’s the rest of the story:
I was looking for a trailer manufacturer to produce a mobile communications solution (disaster resumption/business continuance), post Hurricane Katrina, for my previous employer. After many, many, many hours of research, site visits and inspections — H&H Trailer was chosen, along with Thunder Communications (Greg Smythe) to provide the Sat-Com gear (TracStar GPS auto-tracking robotic dish, VPN gear, and so on).
We would provide our own internal network (Cisco) and the local wireless distribution system would be a Tranzeo point-to-point based solution purchased as required for site deployments. The VPN/Satellite connection was redundant so the loss of a single geographic corporate datacenter, to a natural disaster, would not disable the trailer. The backup generator was integrated on an ASTS (Automatic Static Transfer Switch) and can run off the diesel belly tank for over 24 hours without a refuel. The trailer is auto-leveling with four hydraulic RV jacks (one on each corner) and can accommodate a very large team of field technicians. The trailer can be deployed with a single button press and be online in under 15 minutes.
The finished product (can also be seen at THCM):
Fun, huh?
